TRUMPF TruTOPS Suite 2.1.1.0 X86 85 Trumpf TruTops Suite 2.1.1.0 for Civiltech Superlog 4.1D Tue Oct 08 14:54:44 2013 SolarAid. 1.0.0.. SolarAid.SunLight.Civiltech.Superlog.4.1D TRUTH.CONCEPTS.V2.00.0.59 A: Your awk has issues. Here is how I think it should look: awk -F """ '/^Suit/{table[$2,$1];f++} {p=$1"-"$2;n[++n[p]]} END{for(p in n){if(!($1,$2) in table) print p,n[p],n[n[p]]} } 'infile For brevity, I have changed some things. You were setting an array of pairs of (key1,key2). So, I changed this to set a list of (key1,key2) pairs. I expanded your if statement to test the existence of (key1,key2) in table. I replace table[$2,$1] with n[p] to count how many times a (key1,key2) was found. I used the END block to print any unmatched pairs. I removed the while loop as you did not need it. I made some reformatting inside the END block to make it more readable. If you are ok with only giving me one solution, this should do it: awk -F """ '/^Suit/{table[$2,$1];f++} {p=$1"-"$2;n[++n[p]]} END{if(!($1,$2) in table) Nov 17, 2012 Trumpf.TruTOPS.Suite.2.1.1.0.x86.
